FILM: Scorsese and Cameron Talk 3-D

When I first heard that film directing legend Martin Scorsese (Raging Bull, The Departed) was going to direct his first 3-D film, I reacted with a deep “ugh.” You can blame this on the “3-D” being synonymous with crap film that suck your money. See: Final Destination series,  Piranha 3D. But upon further reflection, I realized this was the same as giving Picasso an extra color to work with, giving Hitchcock the freedom beyond black-and-white. Ahead of its November 23 release, Scorsese talked about the use of the technology in Hugo with James Cameron.

 

Hugo tells the story of an orphan who lives shrouded in mystery until an adventures changes everything. The film opens November 23. The official trailer is below:
