FILM: 2012 Academy Awards Predictions

Below are my 2012 Academy Awards predictions for the major categories. I am not, however, going to pretend to know sound mixing or art direction enough to make those educated guesses. I wouldn’t say I’m good at this, but it sure is fun. A little note on the Best Picture predictions, we do not actually know how many nominees there will be due to the new Oscar voting rules. So for those with an asterisk, they would normally be voted in if we were under a 10-nominee rule. As for now, I believe they’re on the cusp and should only be a few percentage points either way of getting voted in or not.

When all is said and done, tomorrow’s headline should read something like “The Artist Leads with 12 Oscar Nominations; Hugo also scores big with Academy”
